ABC Reneges on Report That Kobe Bryant’s 4 Daughters Were Also on Board at Time of Helicopter Crash
- Updated: January 26, 2020
According to several sources, Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant along with eight others died in a helicopter crash in Calabasas on Sunday morning.
In a shocking revelation reported by ABC, it was believed that Bryant’s four daughters were on board with him at the time of the crash.
UPDATE: Several sources confirm that Kobe’s daughter Gianna was on board with him at the time of the crash but the report of his other daughters being on board were unconfirmed. ABC has reneged on their initial report.Â
Wow. @ABC just admitted they were wrong about this report. Kobe Bryant’s daughters were NOT on board. ABC should be ashamed for adding to the tragedy by making fans, loved ones and friends think his daughters died. Sickening they reported it unconfirmed. pic.twitter.com/wdHuNDqrKW

Today I inaccurately reported it was believed that four of Kobe Bryant’s children were on board that flight. That is incorrect. I apologize to Kobe’s family, friends and our viewers. pic.twitter.com/yYwuB9vpZl

The cause of the crash is currently unknown, but reports say that a fire broke out, and emergency personnel was not able to get to the passengers on time.
Bryant and his daughter are survived by his wife Vanessa Bryant, who was not among those on board.
Kobe Bryant had famously used his own private helicopter for years as he was known for commuting from Newport Beach, Calif. to Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles.
