LeBron James is clearly still dealing with the deep tragedy of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant’s passing.
On Sunday, James was seen overcome with emotion shortly after the deadly helicopter crash occurred.
On Monday, James finally broke his silence and issued a heartfelt message.
On Tuesday, James once again took to social media to add to the global outpouring of love that has been directed at Bryant and his memory.
It’s clear that James is taking the loss hard.
Interestingly, for much of James’ early NBA career, he was pitted against Bryant.
The reason why was because both players were seen as potential heirs to the throne that all-time great Michael Jordan left when he finally retired in 2003.
As James’ and Bryant’s careers evolved, however, the two grew to respect one another. They also grew to become friends.
A new chapter in their friendship seemed to begin this NBA season.
After the hardships James dealt with during his first season with the Lakers, Bryant seemed to make a clear effort to offer his support for James and his Lakers teammates.
In his first Instagram post since Bryant’s passing, James expressed a desire to carry on the five-time champion’s legacy.
That goal will likely only add to James’ drive to bring a title to Los Angeles by the end of this season.
If he manages to do so, there is no doubt he and many of his teammates will dedicate the championship to Bryant.
