The Los Angeles Lakers have been without veteran point guard Rajon Rondo all season long, but that trend looks like it’s about to change.

Rondo got some work in during the Lakers’ shootaround leading up to Tuesday’s game versus the Phoenix Suns, and members of the staff must have liked what they saw.

If Rondo is able to go tonight, he would offer another fantastic veteran presence in the Lakers rotation.

Last season, Rondo averaged 9.2 points, 8.0 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game. While he has struggled with injuries throughout his lengthy career, he has also proven an ability to be a real difference maker on both sides of the court when healthy.

If he can hit the ground running tonight and beyond, there is little doubt that he will add another dangerous dimension to the 7-2 Lakers.
