Hong Kong Protestors Seen Burning LeBron James’ Jersey
- Updated: October 15, 2019

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is dealing with the blowback from his comments regarding the controversy surrounding the NBA and China on Monday.
On Tuesday, footage from Hong Kong depicted pro-democracy protestors burning James’ jersey from when he was a member of the Miami Heat.
Since his initial comments and follow-up tweets, James has kept silent on the controversy that kicked off earlier this month after Houston Rockets general manager Daryl Morey tweeted out in support of the Hong Kong protestors.
A number of NBA stars had also been asked questions regarding the controversy and managed to successfully sidestep the issue with little pushback. That was not the case with James, however, who was quickly panned for his seemingly pro-China comments.
It seems as though protestors in Hong Kong know where they stand when it comes to the three-time NBA champion.
It will be fascinating to see if the opinion of American fans regarding James changes as a result of this incident as well.
