The Los Angeles Lakers stood still during the NBA trade deadline.
However, the team will be aggressive in the buyout market to bolster its chances of winning the 2020 championship.
In fact, NBA insider Dave McMenamin of ESPN.com is already pointing out six players the Lakers may target in the coming weeks.

It appears the Lakers will be keeping their eye on Dion Waiters, J.R. Smith, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, Trey Burke, Reggie Jackson and Jeff Green.
Perhaps the best player on that list is Detroit Pistons guard Reggie Jackson. One of the areas the Lakers were looking to improve their roster in was the backup point guard role.
Jackson, 29, is averaging 15.8 points, 4.8 assists and 3.1 rebounds per game this season. The 6-foot-3 pro hasn’t requested a buyout from the Pistons.
However, with Detroit trending toward a rebuild after the Andre Drummond trade, Jackson’s days with the Pistons may be numbered.
Another player to watch on that list is Smith. The former Cleveland Cavaliers guard, who has been linked to the Lakers all season long, has the support of superstar LeBron James.
The pair went to the NBA Finals four straight years and won the 2016 championship together with the Cavs. Furthermore, James and Smith are both represented by Klutch Sports.
