Report: Sources Reveal All-Stars That Are Expected to Be in ‘Space Jam 2’
- Updated: June 20, 2019

There has been much speculation regarding Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ upcoming film “Space Jam 2,” and which fellow NBA stars will make an appearance in the movie.
On Wednesday, the names of many of the players who will appear in the film were finally revealed.
Sources: Space Jam 2, starring LeBron James, is expected to feature key roles for Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike. Several more NBA and WNBA players, including Chiney Ogwumike, are expected to play roles in film.

At one point, it was reported that James was struggling to find stars of his caliber to make the leap to Hollywood, but now it seems as though things are coming together quite nicely.
It is interesting to note that he will co-star in the film alongside Anthony Davis, the newest member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
It is perhaps even more interesting that the other two NBA stars named, Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson, have both been linked to the Lakers in the recent past.
Early last season, ESPN’s Zach Lowe noted James’ affinity for Lillard.
“The most enticing mega-trade on the board not involving Anthony Davis: Lillard to the Lakers for a package centered around Lonzo Ball,” he wrote. “Lillard is a perfect fit next to LeBron, and LeBron respects Lillard’s game, per sources familiar with the matter. The Lakers could absorb Lillard into cap space this summer without sending out giant matching salaries — salaries they don’t have on the books.”
As for Thompson, he reportedly expressed interest in signing with the Lakers if they were able to bring Davis to Los Angeles. While Thompson is now expected to miss the majority of the 2019-20 season due to an ACL tear, the Lakers would surely at least entertain bringing him in if he expressed interest this offseason.
Whether or not this cast is simply a coincidence, or some next-level recruiting by James, remains to be seen.
