Morris is a huge pickup for a Lakers team that had been mum in regards to moves throughout the season.
The Lakers failed to acquire point guard Derrick Rose of the Pistons at the trade deadline and missed out on Morris’ brother Markieff, who was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers.
After letting point guard Reggie Jackson and the retired Darren Collison also slip through their fingers, the Lakers are making sure they capitalize on one of the hottest free agents available.
Markieff Morris averaged 11.0 points including 39.7 percent three-point shooting for the Pistons this season.
