Don Cheadle Raves About LeBron James’ Acting in Upcoming ‘Space Jam 2’
- Updated: April 9, 2020
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James’ movie career is just getting started, and Hollywood A-lister Don Cheadle had nothing but good things to say about the three-time champ’s most recent acting job.
Recently, Cheadle spoke to The Undefeated’s Kelley Carter about his experience working with James in the upcoming “Space Jam 2.”
“I think people are going to be pleasantly surprised at how much acting they’re really doing in it. He’s not just in there as a stunt cast.”@DonCheadle discusses what it was like working with @KingJames in Space Jam 2.

“During the shooting I was saying, ‘You could be much more of a diva than you’re being right now,'” Cheadle added earlier in the conversation. “It’s so clear about his work ethic, and his idea about team and how he wants to just be one of the dudes. He was really, really was just a joy to work with and very thankful to be there.”
Last summer, James’ involvement in the production sparked conversations regarding the four-time MVP’s dedication to winning.
Some detractors even believed that James had decided to sign with the Lakers for reasons primarily outside of basketball.
James put all those concerns to bed once the games began. Prior to the pause of action in the 2019-20 season, James was putting in one of the best seasons of his career.
He was averaging 25.7 points, 10.6 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game. He had also helped lead the Lakers to a commanding lead in the Western Conference standings.
Now, James and the rest of his NBA colleagues have to wait to see if the NBA will even be able to return in time to complete the season.
Luckily, right now it seems that the league is committed to giving its players and fans such an end.
As for “Space Jam 2,” the film is slated to arrive in theaters on July 16, 2021.
