After L.A.’s 129-102 blowout win over the San Antonio Spurs, Kyle Kuzma revealed some advice Bryant gave him that’s quite relevant right now.
Kyle Kuzma was asked about what he’s learned about being in trade talks throughout his career: “Kob always used to tell me if they aren’t talking about you, you should be worried. And I’m the talk of the town, so…”

Kuzma, of course, has been the one Laker who’s been the subject of trade rumors. A persistent one has been that the team has been trying to deal him to the Sacramento Kings for Bogdan Bogdanovic.
Kuzma has been inconsistent this season following two very solid seasons to begin his NBA career.
While he started in his rookie and sophomore campaigns, he has come off the bench this season following the blockbuster trade for Anthony Davis last summer.
Kuzma is averaging 13.1 points a game in 25.0 minutes so far this season, after putting up 18.7 points a game in the 2018-19 season.
But he has stepped it up lately, as he had 18 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range against the Spurs on Tuesday night.
He has also made a concerted effort to get on the boards with a dozen rebounds on Tuesday and 15 rebounds in the Lakers loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday.
Over a week after Kobe Bryant’s tragic death, the tributes and stories about the Los Angeles Lakers great keep pouring in.
