Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has had a realization amidst a coronavirus pandemic that has led the NBA to suspend the 2019-20 season indefinitely.
As social distancing has become the norm for most people around the world during the past few weeks, James hilariously shared a few habits that will have to change for him in interacting with fans and teammates in the future.
“I ain’t high-fiving nobody for the rest of my life after this s—,” James sarcastically said on the latest episode of the Road Trippin’ podcast. “No more high-fiving. After this corona s—? Wait ’til you see me and my teammates’ handshakes after this s—.”
The Lakers veteran is known to be among the most interactive players with fans. He oftentimes hands off shoes and other game-worn gear to fans in attendance at NBA arenas.
James is also quite famous for his elaborate handshakes with teammates, something that he brought with him from his previous stops with the Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat.
But because COVID-19 found its way to American shores, James has had to distance himself from fans and teammates to prevent further spread of the virus.
As James continues to practice social distancing, fans are undoubtedly hoping that they will soon be able to exchange pleasantries with the 16-time All-Star once again.
