Giannis Antetokounmpo, who many consider the greatest basketball player right now, recently gave his list of the greatest players of all time.
He named six players, and it shouldn’t surprise many that current Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Lakers legend Kobe Bryant both made the cut.
In fact, five of the players on his list donned the purple and gold at one point.
It’s just one measure of the Lakers’ dominance over the decades.
Antetokounmpo has a great chance of someday making it onto such a list if he starts winning championships in bunches.
He not only possesses the statistical dominance that all the top players have enjoyed, he also shares a unique quality when it comes to his competitive spirit. Unlike James, Antetokounmpo doesn’t seem to be interested in buddying up with other superstars.
Like Bryant, Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, the Milwaukee Bucks’ franchise player would rather beat the NBA’s other top players than play with them.
It’s an admirable quality, and it will be interesting to see if he remains dedicated to it if he continues to fall short of winning championships.
