- Updated: January 19, 2020

On Saturday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers emerged victorious in their matchup against the Houston Rockets, 124-115.
Later that same night, MMA fighter Conor McGregor was victorious in his return to the Octagon during the UFC 246 main event fight against Donald Cerrone.
At the conclusion of McGregor’s fight, Lakers star LeBron James gave the fighter some love.

McGregor, who had announced his retirement last March, won by TKO in just 40 seconds. Recently, he told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani that James had inspired him to spare no expense when it came to preparing his body for the fight.
Meanwhile, the Lakers overcame a first-half deficit and a combined 79 points from Russell Westbrook and James Harden to achieve their 34th win of the season.
Los Angeles outscored Houston 32-17 in the third quarter as the Rockets suddenly went cold from three-point range. James propelled the Lakers by scoring 31 points on 13-of-25 shooting from the field. He added 12 assists to the stat sheet as well.
Kyle Kuzma also showed spark with an efficient 23 points. He also did a good job of running the floor to get good looks in the paint and from beyond the arc.
Danny Green and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope each added 20 points for the Lakers, who are in first place in the Western Conference by a wide margin.
This game was the first of a five-game road trip for the Lakers, who will face the Boston Celtics on Monday.
