Caruso is a fan favorite in Los Angeles and parting ways with him would surely be hard for a large number of Lakers fans.
Still, if the Lakers could find a way to package Caruso in a deal that would net them a veteran player, they would be wise to take advantage of the opportunity.
Caruso is currently averaging 5.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 18.4 minutes per game this season.
While his numbers certainly aren’t eye-popping, he is a major hustle player for the Lakers and is willing to do things on the court that don’t necessarily show up on his stat line.
He has also gained something of a cult following thanks to his impressively athletic dunks. In fact, Caruso earned a sizable number of All-Star fan votes this season.
For any teams interested in Caruso, they have until Thursday afternoon to get a deal done.
