Cam Bynum brought a familiar Los Angeles Lakers celebration to an NFL field Sunday.
After intercepting Tennessee Titans quarterback Cam Ward, the Indianapolis Colts safety celebrated with a routine associated with LeBron James’ time in Los Angeles.
James and the Lakers used to do a pregame routine during the 2025-26 season in which most players could be seen participating during warmups.
LeBron & the Lakers pregame routine is awesome. 🤣🤣

The Colts shared their own video of the celebration on X, giving Lakers fans a look at the crossover moment.

Bynum’s interception came in the second quarter at Lucas Oil Stadium and was his first of the season. The takeaway led to a Spencer Shrader field goal.
Indianapolis ultimately lost to Tennessee, but Bynum’s celebration gave the afternoon a connection to a different sport — and a franchise whose influence on him stretches back to childhood.
Cam Bynum’s connection to Kobe Bryant goes back years
James was the reference point for Sunday’s celebration, but Kobe Bryant has long held a special place in Bynum’s life.
In a May 2021 profile published by the Vikings, the team explained that Bynum had worn No. 24 in Bryant’s honor. Bynum had said he began wearing the number in fifth grade.
The profile also revisited Bynum’s response to Bryant’s death in January 2020, when he described the Lakers legend as his “biggest inspiration in life.”
“Mamba Mentality will continue, and there will never be another,” Bynum wrote at the time.
That admiration extended beyond a jersey number. A 2018 San Francisco Chronicle profile identified Bryant as Bynum’s favorite athlete and described how the then-Cal defensive back tried to follow his example through extra work after practice.
Those comments predate Sunday’s celebration by years. They help explain why a Lakers reference fits Bynum’s background, even as his latest tribute drew on a routine associated with James.
