Brandon Ingram Appears to Take Shot at LeBron James via Social Media
- Updated: June 20, 2019
Just a few days after being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the New Orleans Pelicans, Brandon Ingram may already be taking a shot at his more celebrated teammate LeBron James.
Ingram was on Instagram Live recently talking to his viewers about a variety of topics. In a video posted on Twitter, it appeared as though the 6-foot-8 forward was making fun of James’ famous motto, “Strive for Greatness,” by sarcastically saying, “Strive for GOATness,” and calling it (or James) “bogus as hell.”

If taken outside of any context, it seems that Ingram is a bit salty about the trade that sent him, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and several draft picks to the Pelicans in exchange for Anthony Davis.
However, a couple of tweets later may help explain what Ingram was really referring to.
Since y’all deleted the other tweet and running from the truth…. It was a dudes @ name in his live. He told him to fail his physical so Kuz would go to NOLA instead of him. So he said that was bogus. Y’all lame

Lots of Lakers fans now saying "strive for goatness" wasn't a shot at LeBron, but the handle of some jabroni on IG who told Ingram to fail his physical so Kuzma would be dealt to NOLA instead.
As you were.

Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports Radio pretty much assures Lakers fans that Ingram wasn’t being disrespectful to the King but was rather shooting down a suggestion from an Instagram user whose handle was “striveforgoatness.”
