Nearly three months after the death of Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant, his widow Vanessa Bryant offered a poignant remembrance of her late husband on Saturday, which would have been their 19th wedding anniversary.

The touching photo of the two together in happier times is in stark contrast to the current reality that exists.
Vanessa Bryant is not only dealing with the loss of her husband, but also the couple’s 13-year-old daughter, Gianna, who was one of eight other people killed in a Jan. 26 helicopter crash.
The couple first met on Nov. 27, 1999, when Vanessa Bryant was serving as a backup dancer for a music video, and Kobe Bryant was working on an album in the same building.
Such painful milestones are the inevitable aftermath of such tragedies, with the next set to take place on May 1, on what would have been Gianna Bryant’s 14th birthday.
Vanessa Bryant did have a brief moment of happiness on Friday night, when Gianna Bryant was named an honorary selection during the annual WNBA draft. Two other girls who were killed in that crash, Alyssa Altobelli and Payton Chester, also received that honor.
Later this year, Kobe Bryant will be officially inducted into the basketball Hall of Fame after being elected earlier this month. The tentative date for the ceremonies is Aug. 29, but that could be pushed back based on the current coronavirus pandemic.
