Just hours after the NBA’s trade deadline had passed, many Los Angeles Lakers fans across the league were quite shocked when the Lakers stood pat.
But their next move could be on the horizon in the form of free agent point guard Darren Collison.
Collison was spotted at Staples Center during the Lakers’ 121-111 loss to the Houston Rockets on Thursday night, settled in a second-row seat next to team owner Jeanie Buss.

The former UCLA point guard was shown on the jumbotron moments after he arrived, prompting a healthy burst of applause from the home crowd.
Afterwards, Collison said that he was just there to enjoy the game.
“Just watching the game, ain’t nothing to it,” Collison told ESPN. “Got the best seats in the house.”
However, ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne reported that a source said the Lakers were “recruiting” Collison, and that he will discuss with his family and agent whether or not to return to the NBA.
The Lakers currently have a full 15-man roster and would need to waive a player in order to sign Collison.
