LeBron James is known for his philanthropic causes, with one of the most impressive being the creation of the I Promise School in Akron, Ohio.
The four-time MVP’s LeBron James Family Foundation helped create the school, which opened in 2018 for at-risk children in James’ hometown.
Not stopping there, it was announced on Monday that James is working with Graduate Hotels to create housing for families in need with students at the school.
“LeBron James is working with a hotel group to develop transitional housing for families with students in the I Promise School in Akron,” it was reported by the Akron Beacon Journal.
“The housing will be in the 1930s Tudor-revival style Westmont apartment building — slated for redevelopment —on Rhodes Avenue, not far from the I Promise School on West Market Street, west of downtown.”
James’ foundation’s YouTube channel also posted a video of the news, offering viewers more insight into the incredible new development.
“We want to do everything we can to make sure these kids are successful, so we’re taking this thing to a whole new level,” James said in the video. “I’m honored and I’m so excited to announce the I Promise Village by Graduate Hotels.”
Despite his work both on and off the court, James is a polarizing individual both in Los Angeles and beyond.
Regardless of how some NBA fans feel about James, it is impossible to not be impressed by the incredible work he has done to try to promote healthier and happier lives for children in need.
