Sources Say Kawhi Leonard Prefers Lakers Over Clippers If He Leaves Raptors

The Kawhi Leonard sweepstakes are heating up with reports that he is considering to sign with only three teams this offseason.

If Reddit user u/RDAmbition’s report is to be believed, it may actually just be a two-team race between the Los Angeles Lakers and Toronto Raptors.

Apparently, the Los Angeles Clippers may not even be in the mix any longer.

Other Reddit users say that u/RDAmbition has connections with front offices that make him a credible source.

Over the past few years, the Clippers have shipped off their All-Star players to other teams, something that may be weighing heavily on Leonard’s mind.

Chris Paul was dealt to the Houston Rockets in June 2017. They sent Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons in January 2018 despite assurances from the front office that he was going to be a Clipper for life.

Meanwhile, DeAndre Jordan left last summer to join the Dallas Mavericks. Finally, earlier this year, their leading scorer Tobias Harris was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers, further depleting their lineup of stars in order to rebuild this offseason.

On the other hand, the Lakers have given their superstars the proper treatment that they deserve. Perhaps the memory of Kobe Bryant’s No. 8 and No. 24 jerseys being retired is still fresh in Leonard’s mind.

If this report is proven to be true, then the Lakers should make it even more imperative that they impress the 2019 Finals MVP with a presentation that will knock his socks off.
