Report: Lakers Targeting 3 Players Heading Into Tomorrow’s Trade Deadline

With less than one day remaining before the NBA trade deadline, the Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly focusing any deal discussions on three veteran players.

Veteran guard Spencer Dinwiddie is 26 years old and in his sixth year in the NBA and fourth with the Brooklyn Nets. Dinwiddie has started 34 of his 49 games this season and is averaging 21.3 points, 6.4 assists and 3.3 rebounds per game.

Dennis Schroder is also 26 years old and in his seventh NBA season and his second as a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder. In his 49 games during the 2019-20 campaign, Schroder’s come off the bench in all but one game to average 19.1 points, 4.1 assists and 3.9 rebounds per game.

Andre Iguodala has yet to take the court this season as a member of the Memphis Grizzlies. The veteran is not dealing with any injuries, but had come to an agreement before the start of the season with the team that it would make an effort to trade the 36-year-old veteran.

Each of the above players would help bolster the team roster for what the Lakers hope will be an extended playoff run.

While Iguodala’s numbers are the lowest among the trio, he would bring to the team valuable postseason experience, having helped the Golden State Warriors to five consecutive appearances in the NBA Finals.

In 2015, Iguodala was named MVP of the Finals.

Schroder serves as the most consistent shooting threat from beyond the arc, connecting at a career-high rate of 38.8 percent on his 3-pointers this season.

By the time the Lakers take the court for their next game on Thursday night against the Houston Rockets, the results of the Lakers’ trade efforts will be known.
