The Los Angeles Lakers have been interested in acquiring Andre Iguodala all season long.
For that reason, it was not surprising to learn that they have been trying desperately to add the veteran prior to the NBA’s trade deadline.
Unfortunately, it appears that not even a Hail Mary attempt by the Lakers was enough to move the needle for the Iguodala’s current team, the Memphis Grizzlies.
For much of the 2019-20 season, it was assumed that Iguodala would either end up on the Lakers or Los Angeles Clippers. Instead, it now seems more likely that he will end up on the Miami Heat.
With Iguodala potentially off the board, it will be fascinating to see who the Lakers choose to target in the waning hours prior to the trade deadline.
If they can get their hands on a talented veteran, they will be in even better position to bring a title to L.A. by season’s end.
