The Los Angeles Lakers will be shorthanded when they face the New Orleans Pelicans later tonight.

Alex Caruso is reportedly out with an injury, making the Lakers’ backcourt thinner with his absence.

Caruso is averaging 5.4 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game this season, his third in the league. He is shooting 43.0 percent from the field and 32.8 percent from 3-point territory.

This will be the Lakers’ second meeting this season versus the Pelicans, but their first matchup in Los Angeles. The Purple and Gold won the first matchup between the two teams, a 114-110 victory back in November at Smoothie King Center.

The game was notable as it was Anthony Davis’ first visit to New Orleans since the blockbuster trade in June that sent several of the Lakers’ young players to the Pelicans in exchange for the six-time All-Star. Davis scored 41 points and grabbed nine boards in an inspired performance.
