Paul George Makes Bold Claim on Lakers-Clippers Debate: ‘We’re the Best Team in L.A.’

Two of the very best teams in the NBA right now call Los Angeles home.

Both the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers have enjoyed strong starts to the 2019-20 campaign. While the Lakers currently lay claim to the best record in the league, Clippers star Paul George thinks his side is the better one.

George recently took to his Instagram to state that the Clippers are the best team in the city.

“We get to embody being the underdog in a big city. We’re the best team in L.A.” George said.

While the Clippers are certainly a strong unit and won the only contest between the two teams so far this season, the Lakers have been on an incredible tear.

At 12-2, the Lakers have only lost games to the Clippers and defending NBA champion Toronto Raptors.

As for the Clippers, they’ve already lost five games this season.

In the end, the only thing that will matter is which team will be hoisting the Larry O’Brien Trophy. While there are a lot of legitimate contenders this season, it does seem quite likely that whoever wins it, a banner will be going up in Staples to start off next season.
