NBA Players Give Their Opinion on If Lakers or Clippers Will Be Better Next Season

Having made some huge moves in recent weeks, it looks like the two best teams in the NBA’s Western Conference and possibly the entire league will share the same home arena next season.

The Los Angeles Clippers traded five first-round draft picks, as well as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Danilo Gallinari to the Oklahoma City Thunder for six-time All-Star and four-time All-Defensive Team selection Paul George on July 5. Right after that trade was agreed to, Kawhi Leonard chose to sign with the Clippers.

Shortly afterward, the Los Angeles Lakers officially traded Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, Josh Hart and three first-round draft picks, including the fourth overall selection in this year’s NBA draft, to the New Orleans Pelicans for superstar big man Anthony Davis.

They also signed a cadre of reliable complementary players, including Leonard’s longtime teammate Danny Green, six-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins and former Clipper Avery Bradley to join Davis and LeBron James.

This naturally begs the question: Who is the best NBA team in L.A.?

On an Instagram video posted by NBA on ESPN, several NBA players gave their opinion on which team will have the better season.

Most, including Clippers forward Landry Shamet, former Clipper (and Celtics legend) Paul Pierce and one-time Laker Dwight Howard feel like Leonard’s new team will top James and company.

However, Rookie of the Year candidate Trae Young said that the Purple and Gold will do better.

One thing is for sure: The battle of Los Angeles will be fun, feisty and crazy this upcoming season.
