Avery Bradley has reportedly lost a significant amount of weight since he last played for the Los Angeles Clippers.
The Los Angeles Lakers’ newest recruit allegedly dropped 40 pounds and has a chip on his shoulder after his Clippers stint.
In the 2016-17 season, Bradley averaged career-highs with 16.3 points and 6.1 rebounds. He also shot 39.0 percent from three-point range while playing for the Boston Celtics. He has bounced around the league since then, going from the Detroit Pistons to the Clippers, and finally to the Memphis Grizzlies.
Bradley reportedly signed a two-year deal worth $9.7 million after clearing waivers on Monday. He joins a crowded backcourt with the Lakers, who are surrounding superstars LeBron James and Anthony Davis with complementary pieces by stockpiling on shooters and defenders.
Known primarily for his defense, Bradley has become a three-point threat. He showed he was still a capable scorer in his short 14-game stint for the Grizzlies by averaging 16.1 points on 38.4 percent shooting from beyond the arc. The Lakers should expect him to return to his old Celtics form now that he’s shed the extra poundage.
