During the Los Angeles Lakers’ 120-116 victory over the Denver Nuggets on Wednesday, guard Monte Morris was seen talking trash to LeBron James.
James isn’t known to give in to the ample trash talk he receives on the court, but his reaction to what Morris said was plain for all to see.
Morris, a third-year player who is currently averaging 8.5 points per game caught some slack online for getting in the ear of the four-time MVP.
To clarify his actions, the young guard took to social media to explain his approach.
Morris finished Wednesday’s game with 12 points, four assists and two rebounds.
As for James, he polished off the overtime win with a masterful 32-point, 14-assist, 12-rebound performance.
It will be interesting to see whether or not Morris tries to get under James’ skin again in the future. The two players will meet next in a March 15 matchup in Los Angeles.
After that, it’s quite possible the teams will meet in the playoffs.
The Lakers and Nuggets currently sit at the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds of the Western Conference, respectively, heading into All-Star Weekend.
