The MVP performance of Charlotte Hornets forward Miles Bridges during the 2020 Rising Stars Game got the attention of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, who sent along a congratulations on social media about the accolade.

The 21-year-old Bridges scored 20 points, grabbed five rebounds and dished out five assists in the Rising Stars Game to lead the U.S. team to a 151-131 victory over the World team.

Bridges, who was originally drafted out of Michigan State University as the 12th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, is in his second season with the Hornets. Originally chosen by the Los Angeles Clippers, Bridges was part of a draft night deal that then sent him to Charlotte.

In 54 games for the Hornets this season, Bridges has started all but one contest and is averaging 13.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists per contest.

Bridges, like James, is represented by Rich Paul, who runs Klutch Sports and is also a close friend of James.

On Sunday night, James will attempt to lead his squad of All-Star players to a win in the annual matchup. The appearance by the future Hall of Famer will represent the 16th time in his 17 seasons that he’s competed in the contest.
