Lil Wayne Proclaims That LeBron James Is the Greatest Player of All Time

Rapper Lil Wayne is a known sports fan, and on a recent appearance on FS1’s “Undisputed,” Wayne said that he believes the Los Angeles Lakers will be hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy by the end of the season.

His primary reason for believing that is because he considers Lakers star LeBron James to be the greatest basketball player of all time.

“At this time yes, he’s the G.O.A.T.,” Wayne said. “I ain’t worried about all that. He is the G.O.A.T. LeBron James is the G.O.A.T. It’s not about all time, right now, he’s the G.O.A.T.”

He then responded to co-host Skip Bayless’ questions about how James stacks up against NBA legend Michael Jordan.

“Michael Jordan is Michael Jordan,” the rapper said. “But right now it’s LBJ and that’s the G.O.A.T.”

Wayne is familiar with best of all time claims. In fact, for much of his career he claimed to be “the best rapper alive.” Thanks to that, he’s certainly familiar with the repercussions of claiming supremacy in a highly contested topic.

If Wayne’s prediction proves to be correct, and the Lakers do succeed in winning the title this season, James will be just two rings away from tying Jordan’s six.

If he somehow managed to win a fourth, fifth, and six ring before his career came to an end, there would be very little argument about who the G.O.A.T. truly is.

Luckily for Lakers fans, that pursuit of additional rings will take place as James wears the Purple and Gold.
