LeBron James trolls Michigan QB who said it was ‘over’ for Ohio State

The University of Michigan and Ohio State University did battle in one of the most notable games of the college football slate on Saturday.

Ultimately, the Buckeyes, who are ranked as the top team in the nation, went on to win by a final score of 27-9, and that victory came months after Wolverines signal-caller Bryce Underwood apparently told Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James, a known Buckeyes fan, that it was “over” for Ohio State.

In light of Underwood’s team coming up short on Saturday, the NBA’s oldest player went on Instagram and made a post trolling the quarterback for his past comments.

Underwood was far from at his best while leading Michigan’s offense on Saturday. Of the freshman’s 18 passing attempts, he completed just eight of them, and he also didn’t throw a single touchdown compared to one interception. He finished with just 63 passing yards.

He was significantly outplayed by Buckeyes signal-caller Julian Sayin, who is leading the FBS in completion percentage so far in his sophomore campaign.

Even though James never played collegiate sports for Ohio State or any other program for that matter, he’s long been a vocal supporter of the Buckeyes’ football team, and he’s been fortunate enough to see the team enjoy a great amount of success this season.

The Buckeyes have yet to lose a game in the 2025 campaign, as they are 12-0 and 9-0 against other teams in the Big Ten. They’re one of only two squads in the conference (and entire FBS) that’s still undefeated overall along with Indiana University. Those two teams will soon face off in the Big Ten title game.

But what’s probably most important to James is that the Buckeyes’ success has come in conjunction with his Lakers winning a whole lot of games to begin the 2025-26 NBA campaign.

The 40-year-old has played in just a few games for the storied franchise this season and made his season debut less than two weeks ago, yet the Lakers own the No. 2 seed in the Western Conference at 14-4. L.A. is riding a six-game winning streak as well and will have a prime chance at picking up its seventh win in a row when it takes on the New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday night.

James, unfortunately, will be out for that matchup.
