Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James came under a bit of fire on Monday evening after he broke his pregame routine to see his son, LeBron James Jr., play in a high school basketball game.
The primary reason why the elder James faced criticism for the decision was because the Lakers got blown out by the Boston Celtics, 139-107.
Despite that massive defeat, the four-time MVP took to Instagram shortly after the game to let his son know that he wouldn’t have missed his game for anything in the world.
The elder James had one of his more forgettable performances of the season on Monday night. He finished the night with 15 points, 13 assists and seven rebounds.
The fact that a near triple-double can be considered one of his least memorable performances of the season shines a light on just how dominant the three-time champ has been so far this season.
Following Monday night’s loss, the elder James and his Lakers teammates will get one day to recover before heading east to take on the New York Knicks.
That Wednesday game will mark a three-game Eastern Conference road trip that will last them the rest of the week.
