The controversy sparked by criticism of Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James by the personal trainer of Kyle Kuzma was addressed during the Lakers’ shootaround on Saturday.
That personal trainer, Clint Parks, offered social media criticism about James’ defense during the Lakers’ Wednesday loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.
Despite being the target of the criticism, James offered an explanation and dismissal of the remarks.
“Nah, he, Kuz came to me yesterday at practice and told me what was going on, and that was it,” James said. “I really don’t, really care for someone’s trainer or whatever the case may be. Everyone can have their own opinion and anytime someone wants to get some notoriety, they can throw my name in and people are gonna pick it up, and that’s why you’re asking me about it, because my name was in it. So, I’ve never met the guy. I don’t know the guy. I could care less about the guy. So, I wish him the best.”
Such criticism is nothing that James hasn’t dealt with before during his 17 seasons in the NBA, as well as his highly publicized high school career. James is currently dealing with a groin injury, which was likely the cause for any perceived decline in his play.
The focus of James is currently on getting the Lakers back on track, having dropped their last four contests following a 24-3 start. The Lakers will face the Portland Trail Blazers in a Saturday night contest.
