LeBron James Freaks Out as Mayor Garcetti Shuts Down Los Angeles With New Public Order
- Updated: March 20, 2020

On Thursday, Los Angeles mayor Eric Garcetti announced that the current lockdown of the city due to the novel coronavirus will be taken even further.
In fact, Garcetti has ordered that all businesses that require workers to be present must stop operations by 11:59 p.m. Friday.
This new measure is known as the “Safer at Home” public order.
Shortly after the news broke, Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James took to social media to reflect on the news.
Watching the Mayor on TV. He about to shut it all the way DOWN here in LA!!!

Stay safe everyone and God Bless!!!!

He also made sure to applaud the new order, expressing his belief that it is the right thing to do to keep the city and its inhabitants safe.
“Stay At Home” Bill act in place tonight at 11:59pm. Very smart move Mayor! #CoronavirusPandemic

This new order from the local government comes on the heels of a report that two members of the Lakers had tested positive for the illness.
It is still unclear which two players have tested positive.
Hopefully, this new way of life in Los Angeles will help inhibit the spread of the highly contagious disease.
While L.A. has already been on partial lockdown since late last week, this new stage of the process will surely be far more drastic.
As James says in his tweets, what matters most right now is that people stay safe.
Hopefully, this lockdown succeeds in doing just that.
