At one point, LeBron James and Kyrie Irving were considered to be amongst the most dangerous duos in the NBA.
While playing together on the Cleveland Cavaliers, Irving and James helped bring Cleveland its first major sports title in recent memory. Despite that fact, Irving demanded a trade just over a year later.
Though their time together on the Cavs ended on a somewhat sour note, James clearly still feels positively about Irving.
Following a Thursday night matchup between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets, the four-time MVP posted a powerful message dedicated to his former teammate.
It’s great to see the two stars manage to put their past behind them and recognize the brotherhood they will always share.
That being said, the incredible competitive spirit both players hold was on display during Thursday’s game. During the matchup, Irving was seen trolling James when he was talking to one of the game’s officials.
Later in the matchup, James’ new superstar teammate Anthony Davis was seen talking trash to Irving after blocking one of his shots.
In the end, James and the Lakers defeated Irving and the Nets, 128-113.
Given their history, it stands to reason that both players badly wanted to win on Thursday night.
Still, James’ Instagram post indicates that while things may get heated between them on the court, it’s all love off of it.
