LeBron James Pays Tribute to Anthony Davis After 50-Point Game in Lakers Win
- Updated: December 9, 2019

On Sunday evening, the Los Angeles Lakers blew past the Minnesota Timberwolves, 142-125, thanks to a special night from Anthony Davis.
The Lakers superstar erupted for 50 points on a sizzling 20-of-29 shooting from the field, establishing a new season-high scoring effort.
After the game, teammate LeBron James gave Davis props on Instagram.
James knows a thing or two about hitting the half-century mark while wearing the Purple and Gold. He did so last season on Nov. 18 in a win against the Miami Heat.
With Sunday’s game, Davis enters a select group of players who have scored at least 50 points in a game for the Lakers. In the past ten seasons, James and Kobe Bryant are the only other players to have accomplished the feat.
Going back further, Shaquille O’Neal, Cedric Ceballos, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, George Mikan and Gail Goodrich are the other Lakers to have at least one 50-point game in the Purple and Gold.
The outburst boosted Davis to a 27.7 points per game average this season. He’s averaging 33.4 points a game so far in December.
