The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t done making slight changes to their current roster. On Tuesday, the Lakers signed G League veteran Reggie Hearn to the team.
In order to make room for Hearn, they waived guard David Stockton.
“The Los Angeles Lakers have signed guard Reggie Hearn, it was announced today,” the team wrote on their official page. “Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released. In a related move, the team has waived guard David Stockton.”
Last season, Hearn played 40 games with the NBA G League’s Stockton Kings. He averaged 11.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in those appearances.
In the 2017-18 season, Hearn appeared in three games for the Detroit Pistons on a two-way contract.
Perhaps his greatest accomplishment in his basketball career came last year when he was named the 2018 USA Basketball Male Athlete of the Year for his work on the World Cup qualifying team where he averaged 12.2 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in five games.
Hearn is surely a long shot to make the Lakers’ final roster, but there’s no doubt that he’ll be gunning for a job.
