The Los Angeles Lakers have already dealt with a number of injuries prior to the start of the 2019-20 season.
Per a Monday report, another player’s health to keep an eye on is Rajon Rondo’s.
Rondo is currently listed as questionable for the Lakers’ season opener versus the Los Angeles Clippers with a sore calf.
Earlier this offseason, it was reported that Rondo was on a shortlist to serve as the Lakers’ starting point guard. While no starting lineup for opening night has been revealed, Rondo’s status could certainly impact that.
Rondo started two out of the three preseason games he played in. He looked especially good in the Lakers’ second preseason game versus the Brooklyn Nets in which he recorded 18 points, six assists and five rebounds in 24 minutes of play.
Luckily, it doesn’t look like Rondo’s calf is anything to worry about long term. That being said, it would be fantastic if the injury bug would stop biting the Lakers.
