The Los Angeles Lakers seemed to be getting back to full health, but that all changed on Friday morning when it was reported that veteran guard Avery Bradley had suffered a hairline fracture in his right leg.
While it is good news that he will be re-evaluated in one to two weeks, that was not a clear indication that Bradley would actually return after that period of time.
Bradley has been a valuable member of the Lakers rotation this season, averaging 9.6 points and 1.8 assists per game. While he missed one game earlier this season due to injury, he played in every game following that absence and even logged 24 minutes in the Lakers’ most recent game against the Golden State Warriors.
Luckily for the Lakers, fellow guard Rajon Rondo has returned from injury. While the team’s staff surely wants to take it slow with Rondo, Bradley’s absence may force Rondo to bear a greater load than was previously expected.
Hopefully, all ends up looking good for Bradley in the coming weeks and he returns to the court soon.
