Lakers News: Anthony Davis Offers Significant Update on Latest Back Injury
- Updated: January 14, 2020
The Los Angeles Lakers have been without star big man Anthony Davis for the last few games due to a back injury.
Davis hasn’t suited up since injuring his back in a Jan. 7 matchup vs. the New York Knicks.
On Tuesday, he addressed the media regarding the injury and offered a brief update on his recovery.
Anthony Davis says he hasn’t really sprinted yet or taken contact since his injury, but he is feeling better everyday.

He added that he will rest leading up to Wednesday’s game versus the Orlando Magic.
Anthony Davis is speaking to reporters for the first time since suffering his injury. He said he has not yet been able to sprint or take contact. Will rest all that out before Wednesday vs. Orlando.

Whether or not that is an indication that Davis will be available for Wednesday’s game is unclear. What has been clear is that the Lakers have not suffered the absence of their leading scorer.
The Lakers handily won the game that Davis was injured in, 117-87. They’ve also won the three games since and are currently enjoying a nine-game winning streak.
Given that, Davis will likely not return until he has completely recovered from the bone bruise.
That should come as great news for Lakers fans everywhere.
