Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has agreed to a seven-figure multi-year extension with performance footwear company Rigorer.

Reaves will also release a new version of his signature shoe – the AR1 – on global marketplace KICKS CREW to celebrate the occasion. The new AR1 “Milky Way” will be released at 8 a.m. PST on Dec. 8, exclusively on KICKSCREW.COM. The shoe will cost $100.

“The Los Angeles Lakers star has had an impressive start to his signature line, with his first releases selling out within minutes and restocks that also went on to sell out,” Rigorer shared in a press release. “Now, Austin Reaves has agreed on a seven-figure multi-year extension with Rigorer that will also make him a shareholder in the fast-growing company renowned for producing his successful signature shoe line.”

Reaves’ new shoe will debut a colorway with vibrant purple and blue elements. It includes several key features such as an anti-skid heel (to help reduce injury), anti-slip sole (for improved court grip), a woven cocoon upper (which offers breathability and lockdown support) and an innovative bubble lacing system (designed to eliminate lace bite for players).

“I’m proud to continue this partnership with Rigorer; the incredible team has developed a shoe that aligns with my values – High-performance accessibility,” Reaves said. “The team has welcomed me like family, and I will always appreciate them for believing in me at this early stage of my career.”

Reaves has risen to stardom for the Lakers after a strong 2022-23 regular season and playoff run. His play earned him a new four-year deal with the franchise in free agency this past offseason.

In the Lakers’ run to the Western Conference Finals last season, Reaves averaged 16.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 16 games while shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 44.3 percent from 3-point range.

“We are incredibly excited to continue working with Austin and his team; he continues to show incredible promise and utmost dedication to win,” Shawn Liu, vice president of Rigorer said. “These are the values that Rigorer embodies and wants to spread to athletes around the world.”

The “Milky Way” version of Reaves shoe will join some of his other styles, including a “Stars and Stripes” limited edition shoe that was released earlier this year.

This season, the Lakers guard has played well – especially since he moved into a bench role. Reaves is averaging 13.7 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from beyond the arc.

Playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis, Reaves has grown into having an extremely important role with the Lakers. He’s one of the team’s primary ball-handlers and shown improved numbers across the board this season, averaging the most points, rebounds and assists per game of his career.

The Lakers guard will look to keep the team winning on the floor while he also succeeds off the court with his deal with Rigorer.
