Lakers News: Anthony Davis to Miss Tonight’s Matchup vs. Dallas Mavericks
- Updated: January 10, 2020
Los Angeles Lakers star big man Anthony Davis was expected to miss Friday’s game against the Dallas Mavericks.
That expectation proved to be accurate.
Prior to the game, it was announced that Davis will miss the matchup with an injured back.

Davis injured his back earlier this week when he took a nasty spill in a win over the New York Knicks. While a more severe injury was initially feared, further tests revealed that Davis had suffered nothing more than a bone bruise.
Davis’ diagnosis was certainly a positive, but it is wise that the team’s medical staff is taking it easy with the MVP candidate.
With a record of 30-7, the Lakers can certainly afford to give Davis as much time as he needs to fully recover.
Following Friday’s game, Davis’ next opportunity to play will come on Saturday versus the Oklahoma City Thunder.
