Frank Vogel Says LeBron James Has Been Working Out Like a ‘Madman’
- Updated: April 2, 2020
Although the NBA season is currently suspended due to the novel coronavirus, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James isn’t taking any breaks.
As a matter of fact, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel recently told Jackie MacMullan of ESPN.com that James has been working out at a high level.
“If you follow him on social media, you’ll see he’s working out like a madman,” Vogel said. “But LeBron knows what he’s doing. His workouts are mostly for body maintenance, which is what we’re looking for with our guys right now.”
James, 35, was in the midst of one of his best campaigns before the league went on pause.
The four-time MVP was posting 25.7 points, 10.6 assists and 7.9 boards per game this season. Furthermore, his phenomenal play had led the Lakers to the best record in the Western Conference.
The weekend prior to the announcement of the suspension, the Lakers topped the league-best Milwaukee Bucks and star-studded Los Angeles Clippers in statement performances.
With a doubt, James and the Lakers were playing their best basketball of the season.
Now, the team will have to stay motivated and in shape for the duration of the hiatus. Unfortunately, there is no official timetable for when the league will resume its operations.
