Eastern Conference Executive: ‘There’s No Way the Lakers Beat the Clippers in a 7-Game Series’

While the NBA postseason is months aways, the league is already doubting the Los Angeles Lakers’ potential to win it all.

According to Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report, one Eastern Conference executive believes the Lakers don’t have a chance to beat the Los Angeles Clippers in the NBA playoffs.

“There’s no way the Lakers beat the Clippers in a seven-game series,” an Eastern Conference executive said.

The Lakers currently sit atop the Western Conference standings.

Yet, people don’t seem convinced they can take down superstar Kawhi Leonard and the Clippers. To the critic’s defense, the Lakers are 0-2 against the Clippers this season.

However, over the course of the year, the Lakers have been playing better basketball. While the Lakers are ranked as the second best team in the league, the Clippers are just the sixth best squad in the association.

A huge part of the Lakers success is four-time MVP LeBron James. The 17-year veteran is posting an amazing 24.8 points, 10.7 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game this season.

Meanwhile, Leonard is having a career year across the boards. The reigning NBA champion is putting up 27.1 points, 7.4 boards and 5.3 assists per contest.

The last time James and Leonard met in the NBA playoffs was the 2014 NBA Finals. Leonard took down the Miami Heat to win the championship, and earned the 2014 NBA Finals MVP trophy in the process.

With both stars on completely new teams, the landscape for a potential playoff matchup this postseason will be very different. However, it will definitely still be competitive and fun to watch.
