Dwight Howard quickly put to rest a recent report that said he will compete in the Slam Dunk Contest during the 2020 NBA All-Star Weekend.
The Los Angeles Lakers center was one of the most athletic big men during his prime, but he still shows flashes of his athleticism whenever he’s on the floor.
All season long, he’s been seen swatting away opponents’ shots and throwing down lob passes from teammates.
However, it appears that Howard is not interested in taking fans on a stroll down memory lane by participating in what would be his fourth Slam Dunk Contest. He took home the trophy in 2008 as a member of the Orlando Magic when the event was held in New Orleans.
At 6-foot-10 and 265 pounds, the eight-time All-Star could be one of the biggest competitors in the contest if he decides to change his mind about participating.
The 69th edition of NBA All-Star Weekend will begin on Feb. 14 at United Center in Chicago.
