Dion Waiters Leaves Michael Jordan Off His Top 5 Players of All-Time List

Los Angeles Lakers guard Dion Waiters has been known to say some crazy things.

During a recent Instagram Live session with Los Angeles Clippers star Lou Williams, the Lakers newcomer shared who he believes are the five best players of all time. However, there was a notable player missing on the list.

“My top five is god damn AI (Allen Iverson), Shaq (Shaquille O’Neal), MJ, LeBron [James] and Penny Hardaway,” started Williams.

“Mine is AI, ‘Bron, Shaq, Kob (Kobe Bryant) and KG (Kevin Garnett),” Waiters responded.

Waiters, of course, left off Chicago Bulls legend Michael Jordan.

Jordan, who won six championships during his playing days, is widely considered the greatest player in NBA history. However, James is currently on Jordan’s tail to become the greatest of all time (G.O.A.T.).

In early March, the Lakers signed Waiters to a deal for the remainder of the season. However, he never appeared in a game as the Lakers attempted to bring him up to speed before the coronavirus forced the regular season to pause.

Over the course of his career, Waiters has averages of 13.2 points and 2.7 boards per game. While he’s portrayed glimpses of stardom at times, the guard has also displayed loads of immaturity and recklessness.

As a matter of fact, Waiters was suspended multiple times by the Miami Heat this season before joining the Lakers. The journeyman has a troubling history of clashing with coaches, teammates and front offices.

Nonetheless, he is hoping for a fresh start in Los Angeles.
