Though the 2019-20 season has been put on pause due to the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Los Angeles Lakers are already looking forward to what they hope is a deep playoff run.
In a recent interview on ESPN’s “First Take,” Lakers veteran Danny Green spoke about what the Lakers have already achieved this season.
He also discussed the difference between playing with current teammate LeBron James and former teammate Kawhi Leonard.
“Obviously Kawhi is not as vocal as Bron has been over the years,” Green said. “But you can tell last year, he started picking it up a lot more, and this year he’s a lot more vocal than he was ever. He’s starting to learn that.
“On the court wise, Bron is probably more of a facilitator. Kawhi is probably more of an attack, offensive, dissecting-the-defense type of player. Bron is the same way.
“They’re both very good defenders when they turn it on. They can lock down some guys, they can change the game and impact the game on both ends of the floor.”
Clearly, Green holds both James and Leonard in high regard.
On the season, James is averaging 25.7 points, 10.6 assists and 7.9 rebounds per game. He’s also helped lead the Lakers to a commanding lead in the Western Conference.
As for Leonard, he is averaging 26.9 points, 7.3 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game on the season. His Los Angeles Clippers are currently in second place in the Western Conference.
Hopefully, games can start being played quite soon, so fans all over the world can see the two titans meet in the Western Conference finals.
