Bronny breaks silence on reports about LeBron’s future: ‘I don’t really pay attention to that stuff’

Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James opted into his deal with the team for the 2025-26 campaign, but that decision hasn’t stopped rumors from circulating about James’ future with the storied franchise. In fact, it has actually fanned the flames of his uncertain future because of comments his agent Rich Paul made around that time about James’ desire to compete for a title.

However, one member of the Lakers, who just so happens to be James’ son Bronny, implied on Wednesday that he doesn’t pay all that close attention to reports floating around about where the elder James will play in the future.

The younger James and elder James have spent one season as teammates on the Lakers now, though the younger James played a very small role with the Lakers a season ago. He appeared in just 27 games in the NBA’s 2024-25 regular season and averaged 6.7 minutes of playing time per contest.

For as much as the elder James might have a better chance to compete for a title in the 2025-26 season if he were to depart Los Angeles, the Lakers could be the only team that would give him a realistic opportunity to get to play with both of his sons at the highest level before his NBA career is over.

On top of the younger James, the elder James has another son named Bryce, and he could be part of the 2026 NBA Draft if he opts to enter it.

To put into perspective just how much LeBron James would value the chance to play alongside both of his sons in the NBA, he said years before Bronny James was drafted in 2024 that he would be looking at who has first-round picks from 2024 through 2027 because of the chance to play with his family down the line, possibly including Bryce James.

It should be interesting to find out whether LeBron James will stick around with Bronny James on the Lakers past this summer or prioritize competing for a fifth ring and find a way to be traded to a different team.
