Just a few days after being traded from the Los Angeles Lakers to the New Orleans Pelicans, Brandon Ingram may already be taking a shot at his more celebrated teammate LeBron James.
Ingram was on Instagram Live recently talking to his viewers about a variety of topics. In a video posted on Twitter, it appeared as though the 6-foot-8 forward was making fun of James’ famous motto, “Strive for Greatness,” by sarcastically saying, “Strive for GOATness,” and calling it (or James) “bogus as hell.”
If taken outside of any context, it seems that Ingram is a bit salty about the trade that sent him, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and several draft picks to the Pelicans in exchange for Anthony Davis.
However, a couple of tweets later may help explain what Ingram was really referring to.
Jason McIntyre of Fox Sports Radio pretty much assures Lakers fans that Ingram wasn’t being disrespectful to the King but was rather shooting down a suggestion from an Instagram user whose handle was “striveforgoatness.”
