Bradley Beal Speaks Out on Teaming Up With LeBron James and Anthony Davis

For months, there had been rumors that Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal was going to be traded.

After the Wizards got blown out by the Los Angeles Lakers on Nov. 29, Beal was asked what it would’ve been like if he’d been traded to the Purple and Gold.

“I’m good. They’re their own men. They make their own decisions,” Beal said of James and Davis, who left other teams to join up in L.A.

“At the end of the day, there’s no guarantee you’ll win a championship by jumping ship. Only one team wins. When it comes down to my decision-making, I really factored that in. It looks great, but the grass isn’t always greener.”

For a while, it was thought that Beal would turn down a contract extension from Washington and be able to become a free agent in the summer of 2021.

Such a decision would’ve likely necessitated the Wizards trading Beal to receive some value for him.

But recently, he did indeed sign a two-year, $72 million extension to put questions about his future in our nation’s capital to rest, at least for now.

Beal is having a career season so far, averaging 28.0 points and 7.3 assists per game.

But despite the exploits of the 26-year-old star, the Wizards have been terrible, as they possess a 6-12 record. Perhaps the biggest reason why is that they’re dead last in the NBA in defensive rating.

On Friday night, they gave up 125 points and 28 fast-break points to the Lakers, who earned their 10th consecutive win.
