Avery Bradley was probably not expecting to see JaVale McGee try to bring the ball up the court during the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason game on Thursday.
So when the Lakers big man fumbled the ball while trying to escape his Brooklyn Nets defender, Bradley could only raise his hands up in disbelief.
McGee made up for his blooper with a strong performance, finishing the game with six points, 10 rebounds, three steals and five blocks. Meanwhile, Bradley had five points and one rebound in 20 minutes of action.
The hilarious play was a light moment that offered some relief from the tension-filled hours prior to the game. Many had wondered if the game would be canceled because of the standoff between the NBA and Chinese officials. But the scheduled game pushed through and droves of fans still came and filled the arena in Shanghai.
The Lakers lost to the Nets, 114-111, in a preseason game that surprisingly went down to the wire. LeBron James and Anthony Davis played 25 minutes each and contributed 20 and 16 points respectively. The two stars sat down for good with 4:37 left in the third quarter.
