Anthony Davis Says LeBron James Still Best Player in the World

The Los Angeles Lakers scored a big, confidence-building 119-110 win in Dallas on Friday night, and afterward, Anthony Davis complimented teammate LeBron James – sort of.

Despite struggling with his shot early on, Davis had a strong game with 31 points on 15-of-28 shooting from the field. This came one game after he became only the sixth Laker to score 40 points and 20 rebounds in the same game, and the first since Shaquille O’Neal did so in 2003.

James, meanwhile, had a monster triple-double with 39 points, 12 rebounds and 16 assists, and he also netted four steals in his spare time.

The Lakers trailed by as much as 15 in the first half but fought back to make it a competitive ball game in the third quarter behind their defense and their transition game.

Before the season started, Sports Illustrated rated James as the third-best player in the world, and Davis as the sixth-best player.
